Phil starts with a simple, common sense approach of training horses that emphasizes building trust and understanding between horse and rider. His methods have produced over $1,000,000 in Equistat earnings by horses in barrel racing, roping, and other performance events. Phil has mentored and trained horses for multiple NFR qualifiers and continues to coach hundreds of amateur and professional trainers through his online training programs and clinics.

Mentorships are available seasonally with a 4-day program length. Participants are encouraged to arrive the day before and leave the day after the session dates listed below.

The program fee is $3,250, which includes 4 full days of training and mentorship from Phil Haugen. All meals and on-site lodging at the Haugen Training Facility are included in the program fee. Ground transportation to and from the nearest airport (OKC) available for an additional fee.

Mentorship applications are open to participants age 18 years and older. Apply here.
Must be able to demonstrate general horse knowledge
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
Proof of drivers license and health insurance required

Mentorships are hosted at the Haugen Training Facility in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
If you are flying, Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) is approximately 1 hour east of Weatherford. Rental car services are available at the airport, or we can provide airport pickup / dropoff for an additional fee.
If you are driving, our facility is located approximately 6 miles north of Weatherford / I-40. Specific directions will be provided upon acceptance into the program.

If you are flying in or traveling from out of state, you are welcome to ride one of Phil’s horses during the mentorship week.
If you prefer to drive and bring your own horses to work with throughout the week, you are welcome to do so.
If you are bringing horses with you, please let us know how many stalls we should prepare for you and if you need an electrical hookup for your trailer.
